Oopbuy Shipping is the last mile of a cross-border order — the step that turns a warehouse-approved parcel into a delivery at your door. Shipping choice affects both time and cost, and the right method depends on how heavy your parcel is, where you live and how urgently you need the items. This post covers the trade-offs.

The main shipping method families

Three families cover most parcels. Express is the fastest (typically 5-10 business days) and the most expensive. Standard air lands in the middle (10-20 days) and is the most-picked default. Sea freight is the cheapest for heavy or bulky parcels but takes weeks (30-60 days). See Oopbuy shipping cost for the numbers.

How to pick a method

  • Small light parcel, no deadline — standard air.
  • Bulky or heavy, no deadline — sea freight.
  • Gift with a deadline — express.
  • First order, uncertain — standard air with tracking; you will learn the timing for your region.

Delivery-time expectations

Cross-border shipping times depend on your country's customs speed and local last-mile carrier. Times above are typical for major Western markets. Rural addresses add 1-3 days for local last-mile. Peak season (November-December) adds 3-7 days across all methods.

Consolidation before shipping

Consolidating multiple approved items into one parcel usually beats shipping each separately. See Oopbuy consolidation for the strategy. The consolidates flag in seller notes on the Oopbuy Spreadsheet Hub tells you which sellers pack in ways that stack well.

Customs and duties

Cross-border parcels are subject to your country's customs and import duties. Most parcels under a threshold pass without duties; larger ones may incur a fee on delivery. Check your country's de minimis threshold before ordering high-value items. See the Oopbuy beginner guide for a customs primer.

Tracking your parcel

Every shipping method includes a tracking number. Standard air tracking updates less frequently than express — expect 3-4 status updates rather than daily granularity. If a tracking number stalls for more than 10 days after leaving the warehouse, contact customer support with the number.
